ERR 32: Unable to get/set values in registry

Trackbase inspects the Windows registry to determine the location of the Trackbase database file (tb.db). This error appears if this registy key cannot be read.

This message will occur following a new installation of Trackbase, when the user does not have permission to create entries in the Windows registry. Please contact your system administrator if this is the case. If you still experience trouble please contact your Account Manager on 0151 353 3500 for further support.

Registry keys

This information is only intended for system administrators. Extreme are must be taken when changing entries in the Windows registry.

Trackbase uses four registry key. Trackbase will check HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> SOFTWARE -> ODBC -> ODBC.INI first for the keys. If these do not exist it will check HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> ODBC -> ODBC.INI. The latter location is now the default for Trackbase.

The links below will create the Trackbase registry keys without the need for a complete re-installation, but must only be used when Trackbase is installed to one of the default locations. If these links are used on a working version of Trackbase which is installed to a non-default directory (e.g. c:\abi\tbii), this will cause Trackbase to no longer work. Please excerise caution when using these links. Contact your ABI Account Manager if you have any doubt regarding their use.
