      Barbour ABI is the UK’s leading provider of intelligence and lead generation services that help clients to generate new business opportunities from the construction sector. With more than 80 years of experience and 100+ colleagues based at Cheshire Oaks within our research, sales, client management and marketing teams, the quality of our data collection processes and existing knowledge in researching and tracking construction projects is second to none – we publish the UK Government’s National Infrastructure & Construction Pipeline and provide the Office for National Statistics with critical data to produce its Construction New Orders estimates.

      Barbour ABI are looking for an Area Sales Manager to join their rapidly growing global company based in Cheshire Oaks.

      This role is remote home- based covering the Greater London and Home Counties areas.

      Job Description

      • Managing the development of revenue by achieving agreed targets, meeting with clients, preparing presentations and creating ideas for new business.
      • Self Generation/Meetings/Leads/Networking
      • Identifying and developing new business opportunities to expand and develop working relationships
      • Keeping up to date with market trend and competitor activity
      • Ensure an ongoing, detailed understanding of the key markets relevant to client base
      • Ensure a thorough understanding of client’s objectives including their return on investment (ROI) objectives.
      • Lead generation and appointment setting in according to targets set by the Sales Director
      • Ensure post meeting reporting is achieved on time and according to agreed templatesPersonal

      • Determined to exceed targets and objectives and be a real leader.

      Knowledge and Experience:

      • Minimum of 3 years experience selling multi-platform solutions to clients across a range of companies within a B2B environment
      • Demonstrable consultative selling expertise to board level clients
      • Ability to build and nurture strong relationships internally and externally
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build rapport whilst communicating with decision makers at all levels
      • Planning/time management/self-organization and self discipline
      • Initiative – proactive and able to work independently
      • Confident on the phone
      • Able to work with others and in a team
      • Determination and drive to succeed
      • Goal-oriented
      • Dependable – takes responsibility for own actions, keeps commitments
