Project Manager

We’re going through an exciting period of new product development at Barbour ABI and are looking for a Project Manager to join the team to support with managing projects within our expanding programme.

Reporting to the Programme Delivery Manager, the Project Manager will manage delivery of projects (as assigned) by producing project plans, agreeing milestones and working closely with delivery teams and Product Managers across the business to co-ordinate and drive actions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage delivery of projects (as assigned) to ensure success as defined by agreed scope and timelines – drive projects through from early stage of initiation to final implementation
• Develop and maintain project plans, breaking projects into do-able actions and setting timeframes
• Organise project meetings, communicating and driving actions
• Taking meeting minutes and updating plans and documents
• Co-ordinate between various Business Product Managers and technical personnel during all project phases, encouraging transparency of delivery effort, deliverables and milestones
• Work closely with delivery teams to understand status, issues and risks, escalating to the Programme Delivery Manager where appropriate
• Develop understanding of product requirements to support project teams
• Build productive working relationships with team members, senior management and project teams to ensure priorities are understood by all impacted parties
• Produce status reports for management meetings and to facilitate fact-based decision making
• Document customer feedback
• Be an advocate for internal project management processes (such as the Squad structure and change control procedure), and support the Programme Delivery Manager to improve these guidelines, templates and processes

Skills and Experience

• Demonstrable project management experience
• Strong planning, organisational and negotiation skills
• Strong communication skills – including verbal, written and speaking to a group
• Ability to make things happen in an environment of ambiguity and complexity – able to influence others
• Ability to adapt quickly, learn new things, evaluate issues
• Ability to demonstrate a proactive/ can do style of work – delivery focused
• Transparent and collaborative approach
• Ability to manage priorities and work well under pressure and to deadlines
• Ability to work closely with product development teams and cross functional teams and delegate tasks to deliver work
• Ability to understand our customers and their feedback
• Excellent attention to detail
• PC literacy

Knowledge and Qualifications (Desirable)

• Knowledge of collaboration and project management software tools such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Trello, JIRA, Confluence
• Project management qualification (such as Prince2 or APM)
