With more than 150 colleagues based at Cheshire Oaks, our in-house team of research specialists and a dedicated economics team provide commercially relevant insight and unique analysis of trends and developments within the building and construction industry. Barbour ABI is the chosen provider of Construction New Orders estimates data to the Office for National Statistics and partner of the Government’s Infrastructure and Projects Authority in providing the National Infrastructure and Construction Pipeline.

      As part of our growth plans, we are looking for an additional Sales Manager to join the sales management team to be based in Head office at Cheshire Oaks. Reporting into the Sales Director, this role will be working in an accomplished forward thinking and open-minded sales team.

      Key responsibilities

      • Actively selling and leading the team in revenue delivery
      • Leading the team to ensure the required KPI s for the team are met
      • Responsible for delivering revenue across the full product portfolio each month.
      • Work with internal sales teams to manage their own rucksacks of prospects and customers and actively assisting them in appointment making and selling.
      • Ongoing coaching with individuals and assisting with the facilitation of group training where required
      • Conduct weekly / monthly one to ones with all team members and work with them on their own personal development plans
      • Manage a pipeline of opportunities and present forecasts to the business
      • To assist in the recruitment and induction of new employees
      • Promote efficiencies in the department and undertake reporting as required
      • Take lead on specific projects as appropriate
      • Ensure tactical implementation of the businesses strategic goals

      Personal Attributes:

      • Self motivated professional with a high level of enthusiasm and desire for success
      • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships at all levels
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
      • Ability to manage and priorities multiple tasks towards tight deadlines
      • Ability to pivot and adapt to a fast paced working environment
      • Able to demonstrate personal confidence in sales scenarios
      • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
      • Maintain a personal hands on approach
      • Technically adaptable to systems and software

      Knowledge and Experience:

      • Minimum of four years sales management experience managing either new business development or account management sales teams or a combination of both
      • Experience of operating in a B2B marketplace is preferred.
      • Knowledge of data sales would be beneficial, as would experience of working within the construction sector
      • Confidence in coaching and developing individual sales skills
